MISSION STATEMENT:
First Christian Church is an independent, Bible-based, Christ-centered body of believers, committed to reaching our area with the message of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We are in fellowship with thousands of free congregations throughout the world, known only as 'Christian Churches,' who are endeavoring to restore unity to His church by following the Bible only, proclaiming Christ as our creed, and recognizing that we are not the 'only Christians,' but 'Christians only.'
The Purpose of FCC is to be a GROWING FAMILY on a JOURNEY with God...
GROWING: Ephesians 4:15 - "Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ."
We want to grow, spiritually, numerically, relationally, more conscious of the brokenness of this world, spiritually vibrant children, and in wisdom not just knowledge.
FAMILY: Genesis 17:7 - "I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you."
You matter to First Christian Church. Family, men, women, singles, children, students, and the heritage of the family matter to FCC.
The church will be a family, not an audience.
JOURNEY: Hebrews 11:8 - "By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going."
The whole Bible is the story of a journey that matters.
The journey is long, tedious, dirty and only ends when God says so.
...that values AUTHENTICITY, FAITHFULNESS, and COMPASSION.
AUTHENTICITY: Isaiah 29:13 - "The Lord says: 'These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship is made up only of rules taught by men.'"
Worship, teaching, service in the church and outside of the church, and life change will all be
Authenticity and pretense cannot co-exist.
FAITHFULNESS: Exodus 17: 12-13 - "When Moses' hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hour held his hands up - one on one side, one on the other - so that his hands remained steady till sunset. So Joshua overcame the Amalekite army with the sword."
We will reclaim the ability to give all glory to God, believe and teach a God who performs miracles, and believe in a God who answers big and small prayers.
We will reclaim the "mystery" of Christ in salvation, grace, baptism and forgiveness, the power of the Holy Spirit, the knowledge of faithfulness being an act of worship, and the knowledge of a faith that requires action.
COMPASSION: James 1:27 - "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."
We are responsible for our family, those God brings to our family, being the hands and feet of Jesus, the needs of broken people, Kenosha, and the World.
Genesis 26:2-5 - "The LORD appeared to Isaac and said, 'Do not go down to Egypt, live in the land where I tell you to live. Stay in this land for a while, and I will be with you and will bless you. For to you and your descendants I will give all these lands and will confirm the oath I swore to your father Abraham. I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and will give them all these lands, and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because Abraham obeyed me and kept my requirements, my commands, my decrees and my laws.'"
