Several years ago, a couple of individuals sat down and asked the question “What does benevolence look like long term?” What does restoring a person, holistically, look like in a long term relationship. Out of that became the Nehemiah Project. We read in scripture that Nehemiah rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem in 52 days. The Nehemiah Project seeks to partner with an FCC family to rebuild their spiritual, financial, physical and relational walls in 52 weeks. Over the course of one year, an FCC family is surrounded by four mentors that teach and guide them to rebuild their spiritual, financial, physical and relational wall.
What are those walls you ask? When looking at anyone’s life, there are four overarching walls that stand out. Each of the walls the Nehemiah Project restores, makes the adjoin wall stronger as well. By restoring the four walls, we are able to bring a family to a much healthier place of life then where they were when they first start the Nehemiah Project. At this point, we are able to walk with one family through the twelve month process with a goal of walking with two families simultaneously in the upcoming few years.
